In case you don’t know who Dame Dash is, he is a brilliant businessman and mogul. He went from the streets to owning various companies and retail clothing lines. I have admired his career for many years. Read more about him here.
I don’t want to give too much away, but in the video below Dash makes great points about legacy, Black wealth, creating and owning your own, gossip, the employee mentality, who to trust, etc. At times, you can see his frustration with the hosts of The Breakfast Club. It happens when he discusses ownership and they cannot understand him because they are addicted to the faux security of a paycheck and calling someone else boss.
I’ll admit the video is pretty long and has profanity and sexism, but he is teaching. If you listen, carefully you can see why he is where he is. This is one of the best interviews I gave seen in a while. Here are lessons you can learn from him.

This condescending buffoon was so broke, he had his Tahoe repossessed. How’s that for SECURITY? Owning a business doesn’t equal security. Who makes PAYMENTS on a car when your successful and rich?? You pay for them in cash, you don’t make payments on lame cars like Tahoe’s. This sexist idiot can’t even live within his own means and wants to call other men who are employed women because they live comfortably as employee’s. There’s no possible way our economy would survive if everyone was an employee. Businesses grow because of employee’s. His son owns a restaurant and has slaves in which he doesn’t agree with. People shouldn’t listen to people that don’t make sense.
*There’s no possible way our economy would survive if everyone was an business owner.*
You are so funny with that comment. We all know we cannot all be business owners. But no one should be content with being a wage earner for life. Here is a hint though, even business owners buy /use services from others. Your comment is kind of silly
Your logic isn’t even funny. It’s sad. If we didn’t have people who were content being wage earners, we wouldn’t have a productive workforce or any work force. You’re saying it’s better that everyone hope and dream of something that will likely never happen. You don’t know how economics work if you think every business would be fine outsourcing their entire business.
Dame’s advice is very destructive. “Saving money is for suckers.” That’s exactly how you go broke. He couldn’t even sell his assets to get himself out of the debt he owed. The average business owner in America makes
