Yeah I was getting bad vibes when I heard about it last year. I’m just not big on slavery films. Roots was okay though. But the thing I don’t like is they always have the pairing of black and white buddies saving the day together.lol Did you see Amistad? It was the same thing. Whites coming to save the negroes.lol Since we can’t seem to do it ourselves. I don’t think white people are comfortable watching slavery films unless they see someone they can identify with. I would love to see a film about Nat Turner’s slave revolt. Just black slaves fighting for their liberation. But unless there’s a “white savior” in the film,Hollywood wont go for it. But I digress.
LOL. Even in slavery there has to be a Black best friend.
