Stop taking hair and beauty advice from ashy negrosmologists on the net!

I found this post floating in a group I’m in, and I got something to say.

The picture above is about the dumbest thing ever. I mean dumber than the shake weight and Pepsi Clear. Dumber than a box of rocks and doorknobs. Dumber than dumb! Sisters, stop taking hair and beauty advice from suspect ashy randoms on the net. Don’t even pay attention to them. Don’t give them a pixel or a thought. Here’s some unsolicited advice. If you want hair advice, go to your hairstylist. Go to hair groups. Ask your momma! Jut stop listening to these ash boxes.

I want you to reread and think about what this dude says. I’ll give you a minute to absorb this foolishness. According to this licensed negrosmologist, since we’re not born with twist outs, Bantu knots, braids, flat twists, flat ironed, hot combed, combed, washed, detangled and products in your visibly 4 type hair that takes four hours to wash, dry and detangle, your hair isn’t natural. What the heck? Some of y’all probably have pick me syndrome and agree because peen reigns supreme.

The gentleman and the pick mes are wrong. Blackhair.about.com says “Natural hair is hair whose texture hasn’t been altered by chemical straighteners, including relaxers and texturizers. An Afro hairstyle is sometimes referred to as “a natural,” but natural black hair can be worn in many other styles besides a short ‘fro. Pressed hair may still be considered natural because once washed, the texture usually returns to its unaltered state (as long as no heat damage has occurred).”

Since we all know this professional hair obsessor from Hotep University is wrong, I’m challenging you to use your common sense. Sis, how are you going to take hair advice from someone who cuts his natural hair every two weeks? How are you going to take hair advice from someone who uses wave caps and pomades to manipulate their hair? How are you going to take hair advice from someone who thinks heat can change your hair’s DNA? Come on son! According to his beliefs, his ass is not even natural. Negrosmetologist’s need to take their advice and let their taco meat hair roam free.

Again, stop taking beauty advice from men who are jealous of you. I said it. They are jealous of your creativity and the freedom you have to express yourselves. They can’t express themselves because it threatens their masculinity, so they’re stuck and they want you to be stuck too.

Finally, can we all agree a woman should do what she wants? If you’re natural, relaxed, bald, weaved or rocking a gorgeous wig, I support and love you.

The only limit you have is the one you have placed on yourself. Think and be limitless.
