Dearest Negro,
We here at Bougie Black Girl land find it absolutely ironic that your ass is upset about some old White man’s comments about not having Black people at games. Hm. We also find it absolutely freaking ironic that these same people are mad because Donald Sterling has no problem depending on the labor and money of Black folks but does not want to be seen with them. What hell do you think you are doing to Black women? ( Here is a list of famous Black men who have dissed Black women. Check out their twitter and watch their pearl clutching.)
I am astounded by the sheer audacity of you people. How dare you ask me, a Black woman, to be outraged and boycott because a White owner doesn’t want his half Black girlfriend to take Black men to a basketball game? There is no question that Don Sterling is a racist but he is no different from you. For over 30 years you have dissed me. He didn’t call me out my name. You did. He didn’t call me a bitch. You did. He didn’t call me a hoe. You did. He didn’t say Black women weren’t the best. Your Black ass did. You claim that I am loud, ghetto, ugly, angry, unwanted and unlovable but you want me to fight your fight.
You promote women of other races while disrespecting women of your own race. You dissed my hair, skin, nose and other afrocentric features while uplifting others groups features. Well, you can kiss my loud, ghetto, ugly, angry, unwanted and unlovable ass. So no, I won’t be marching, picketing or tweeting. Y’all got the Black establishment to do that while they ignore your abuse of me. Hey NAACP, BET, Jessie Jackson and Urban League! Maybe no to the NAACP because they are giving Donald Sterling an award. Got to keep those checks coming. And no, racism doesn’t trump raciomisygny. I will not separate my Blackness from my gender. I am a Black woman and racism and misogyny hurts just the same. So don’t waste your time asking me to fight for you because I won’t. Save your faux proBlack Black White supremacist tears for those mammies and maids who can’t recognize game. I see you!
You know what? I do agree with you. We should boycott all bigots. Only this time that list should include your hypocritical ass too.
Signed a woman who demands reciprocity and respect. Deuces!!!
BBG
Amen Sister…Amen
I feel u ladies, but y’all got to stop supporting these guys
We don’t.
When will you?
We’re obviously NOT supporting this guys Laron. Try again.
Amen
So true. I am tired of the racism I see from White AmeriKlan and other Americans and it is worse when Black American male children diss us and put us down yet expect us to be there for them when they face racism and discrimination.
Fuck them all!
This was silly to read. Just because someone is wrong about one thing, doesn’t mean that you should excuse the behaviour of someone else who was wrong just because you didnt agree. That is childish! Thats like not supporting gays because you met some who were racist. Not every black man is misogynist or has negative things to say about black women. Furthermore, this article really shows me that you are no better doing exactly what they do. SMH
It isn’t comparing two different issues- its the same issue. Racism from whites towards blacks is the same as intra-racism from blacks toward other blacks. Who said all BM were racio-misogynists?
Amen
Again, seperate issues. I didnt wake up yesterday morning and decide to disagree with Donald Sterling because some “brothas” didnt like him and needed my support. I did so on my own account. But then again, you are a bougie-black Christian….my expectations for your logic are extremely low. Such a sad state of events to know that you are part of the problem that exists in our community. Nothing but negativity to fight the negatives and clearly a short memory worshipping a “WHITE DIETY”. Hand over your black card. You are a sad excuse for an “African-American”. Bougie-black is right!
She didn’t say every black man she pointed out specific black men. She also didn’t say she agreed with Donald Sperling. She just stated that they are hypocrites. They complain about racism and practice it against black women.
Oh Lord, here we go with the uppity conscious “you worship a WHITE GOD SO I’M SMARTER THAN YOU, HA!” argument. She was not saying people shouldn’t boycott bigots like Sterling, she was saying that the boycott should be extended to bigoted black men as well. What does her religion have anything to do with the argument? And what does it have to do with your poor reading comprehension?
You don’t want to get it. Bigotry regardless of the source is wrong. We all should be equally outraged when dealing with raciomisogyny as we are when a racist makes a statement but we are not. I get that Sterling is a racist but these men are just as vile too. They are hypocrites perpetuating an incredible evil against Black women. They should be held to the same standards. If you cannot see that I can’t help you.
…Bye.
Try reading “The forty million dollar Slave” look for this non-fiction book on amazon. This book will answer your question.
No thanks. If you want to talk about his housing discrimination lawsuit where Sterling had to pay $2.7 million to Black and Latino families we can talk. This is about billionaire racist being mad because he doesn’t want his half Black girlfriend around Black millionaires. I am neither one of the two (one day I will be). It’s not my fight. Let the NBA wives, rappers and entertainers who hate Black women fight it.
Please point out the paragraph or sentence which shows that BBG is supporting Sterling because I haven’t seen anything to that effect. The gist of the article is that the ‘outraged’ BM are racio-misogynists who consistently degrade, belittle, insult and demean BW on various platforms.
These colourist BM are abusive towards black women but they have the audacity to call out Sterling for racism, forgetting their own psychological/emotional abuse towards black women. These BM are hypocritical because they want Sterling to held accountable and punished but they refuse to hold themselves and each other accountable for their psychological and emotional abuse of black women. They’re not calling for boycotts and bans when it is lil wayne, snoop, kevin hart, jayz or dl hughley.
You know what BBG wrote and you know the gist of the article. Your comment is a tactic intended to derail this discussion, inflame and annoy. If you don’t like what she’s saying, go find a space where your views are acceptable or start your own space. Boo bye with all that.
Shots. Freakin’. FIRED! Thank you for highlighting this hypocrisy that’s obvious to all but the willfully blind and oblivious. “Not every black man is misogynist or has negative things to say about black women.” If that’s the thesis you got from this article, you need to reread it. This article isn’t about “every” black man, it’s about the specific ones who ARE misogynist and racist AND YET have the nerve to feel entitled to black women’s support when THEY face racism.
Exactly. The fact that I pointed out two specific examples should be proof that I am talking about a specific group but it isn’t enough because they want to demonize this post..
The reason he/she gathered this (about it being about all black men) is because, let’s be real…a lot of blacks, male and female, support Kevin Hart and Lil Wayne’s buffoonery.
Boy, the Internet is all a flutter over this foolishness, but funny none of these turkeys boycotted Jay-Z for going ahead with his business deal with Barney’s. Fortunately for me, my dollars never supported the Clippers, or any rapper.
No one is going to boycott the Clippers en masse, because they don’t make black people like they did in the 60s. They’ll holler for a minute then go back to what they were doing yesterday.
But I must say kudos to my sistas recognizing the okey doke!
Thank you! Keep telling the truth!
Well said! The disconnect is incredible, and sad.
Black feminism, another tool used to lure black women into fighting black men without drawing the line between the positive and negative ones
…Bye.
LOL! Because Lil Wayne is one of the positive ones. Mmmkay.
LMBO!!
LOL
Let’s get one thing straight. Feminism (and that includes womanism, which still follows its rhetoric) is a movement for white females who want to assimilate with white men and their traditional oppressive gender roles. White women simply “allow” minority women to participate, to exploit the raw number of Black women willing to rally to their cause, while ignoring their. Issues such as colorism, not being respected as humans with vulnerabilities, nor being acknowledged as “real” women.
That said, many “conscious” Black men hate feminism, but for a very ironic reason. Black men exploited the number of Black women willing to fight with them during the civil rights movement, yet didn’t want to actually incorporate their needs into the movement. In short, these Black men are simply upset that feminism gets to exploit Black women in the same manner they feel entitled to exploiting Black women. Neither group has Black women’s interests at heart, and neither of them should be taken seriously as any beacon of change for Black women.
I go into more detail about how feminism (and womanism) exploits black women here: http://aussette.blogspot.com/2014/05/how-feminism-appropriates-efforts-of.html
There’s also a handy quote in there from orchestrated pulse, I just didn’t want to divert too much from the point about Black men wanting to do the same thing to us.
This is not about feminism. Where are the black men to fight against the negative images and portrayal of black women that other black men portray. Where were they while we been being bitches and hoes. So man up and fight your own battles like we have to do.
I guess I am a sister you’re giving a massive side eye because I am outraged by Sterling.
He’s a racist as well very stupid. He’s a married man having an affair with a woman his wife is suing? He didn’t think it was going to get nasty?
Listen to the tape; she plays him like a violin, reeling him in…getting him to say what’s in his heart.
I don’t call Siliviano a gold digger. She’s a hero in my book. She’s a sista.
Now DS is exposed to the world. I believe the NBA will get rid of him.
It’s an economic issue. If Staples Center doesn’t want black dollars, we should boycott them.
Boycott men who disrespect you
Sterling said he didn’t want black people at his games.
Along with the thousands of black famiiess who save their money to send their kids to an NBA game, he apparently that means his players’ wives, mothers and children are not welcome either. I guess you could call that “disrespect. ” I call it economic suicide. I really hope AEG suspends/revokes his lease.
No need to hijack the discourse. No need to point your first weapon at your own. No need to proclaim that someone is expecting “you” to fight “their” fight. No need to critique the angry label by using anger as a vehicle. Speaking of a double standard, somewhere not too far away from the intellectual bougie hypothetical thought space are a mass of sistas propogating the bitch ass nigga label, the hoe as nigga label, and thus are equally the source of this problem. But again, I understand that’s considered strength. Too soon for told you so’s…IMO
…Bye.
Well said. Shared on Facebook.
Don’t worry Bougie Black Girl there are still too many black women out there who still fee like soldiering for the ‘movement’ for all black people but mostly black men and feel like protecting black men from all aspects of life, even protecting the black men and boys from breaking a nail or breaking into a sweat while turning around and getting upset at being called emasculating and mannish. They swear up and down the land that they are not coddling black men and black boys but they are always found to be doing just that. And they want you to transfer all responsibility and accountability that black men should have on to white people’s shoulders and to transfer this in a very angry sway with constant protestations because they don’t really want any black women in the world to be respected and protected ladies but only soldiers out gunning Rambo himself and doormats for black men. Couldn’t the NAACP do any proper vetting and screening? Does that DISorganization even know what vetting and screening even mean? I mean they were about to give this Sterling an award yet I’ve read that in his rental properties he never admits or takes on black tenants yet they were still going to award him!
It’s Genarlow Wilson all over again regardless because they’d give Beelzebub an award if he decided to drop by for a visit. I hear tell that some of these black women think that ‘extremes are childish’ but extremes are never childish to them when black men are practicing their misogyny against black women and black girls on a daily basis and sadly black women who have sons seem to be the ones who have the least discernment about this because they insist on lumping in their own sons with every violent, lazy, crazy, misogynist DBR in creation. Desperate times call for desperate measures and the word desperate can be synonymous with the word extreme. So in these extremely bad times black women had better break all ties from racist sexists of all colors and all genders unless they want to spend the rest of their lives being asexual soldiers who are coddling ‘female shaped’ automatons that ‘real people’ think have no emotions, weaknesses, feelings and have the strength of ten prizefighters.
Yep!
Only black women can make black men harbor the brunt of a racist white man and his actions. This post is a HUGE white knighting attempt to take attention off of a white racist and onto black men, indiscriminately. Anyone that can read objectively can see that. “Dear Negros” indeed.
…Bye.
Like Spinster said, “BYE!!!!”
No, it is just saying that the black men are guilty of what they are complaining of. Nobody cares but black men what some white racist thinks. So hard trying to impress them. I been trying to tell black men they are not impressed. I guess they will see it after a while. I don’t even think anybody was surprised he felt this way, but black men.
Black people don’t like constructive criticism of other black people at all and this gets multiplied by ten when the constructive criticism is about black men especially if black women are giving the critique. They go on like they have no discernment and are so simple-minded because they think because a black person has said that certain behaviours and ways of a large group of black people are extremely bad, destructive and have to stop that that means that black person automatically is worshipping everything white and declaring all white people as perfect or superior.
Every criticism towards them means that ‘black is wrong, bad and inferior and white is right, good and superior’. A black woman can’t even talk to these fools anyway so why even bother?
Thank You for this
too bad so many Black women are falling for it.
WOW i love this post!! i said the same thing 0 f*cks given
all this selective outrage is becoming a bit much!
anyone who ASSumed that Donald loved blacks because he own a NBA is a delusional coon.
thanks you for the lil wayne post as well!
lil wayne trying to turn conscious threw me off, he’s mad at this racist man’s rant, yet he was ok rapping about a teen who was killed by racist in a derogatory way? unless he’s gonna house and feed the entire clipper team, he need to have a tall glass of STFU.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZef_VIoL5A
Excellent post. Spot on.
Standing Ovation.
Thank you.
This is a great post.
Black men get angry when someone like Sterling says racist things about black men; but when some black man says racist things about black women, those same men are silent.
Look, if Kevin Hart prefers light skinned women, that’s his right. The problem is when he opens his mouth and broadcasts his stupidity. What would happen to Hart’s career if he said the same thing about Jewish women?
Amen and hell no.
The Jews made Sony pull Michael Jackson’s album from the self. He had to go into the studio and remake a song. During this time, Michael Jackson was the biggest star in the world. Peep power!
Meanwhile lost Black and women will argue you down about the Black man’s right to debase us for all the world to see.
Great post!
Thank you for reading
Hello, BBG. I am a Black man and I understand what you’re saying. However, what can I do to show you that I do not support Black male celebrities who dis Black women? Is there a greater way that I can show support?
As Kola Boof says, “create new sons.” Today’s generation is lost. If you have sons and daughters teach them to love themselves and love their Blackness. Keep them away from the TV and radio. It will destroy their minds.
[…] http://bougieblackgirl.com/child-please-bougie-throws-massive-side-eye-towards-black-women-haters-wa… […]
Racism from other Blacks is actually worse. You expect to be able to trust your own kind. In fact it’s normal behavior among other groups.
Great post BBG & thank you for writing it.
You know these are the same men who will complain that black women don’t let them be men and handle things. the minute black women back up and give them their space what happens???? They claim we’re selfish and self centered for moving onto our issues and not getting involved in theirs. It’s not like black women are calling them names or saying that what you get. We are just following the message that they have collectively been sending for years that we are not wanted or welcomed by them. Perhaps their wives will pick up and give them support in their time of need.
No anger here just moving on to our future and avoiding the potholes and gas lighting along the way.
Look, I’m come from a pantheistic/atheistic view point but I agree with you Bougie Black girl. I can care less what your spiritual beliefs are, I am very down for the cause, and support what you are doing here! It’s about time, thank you. What you are saying makes a lot of sense. A web site like this, is refreshing and truthful.
I don’t see any flaws in your logic. Even though, we may not agree on spiritual beliefs, I like how you get to the heart of the matter in your topics.
There are the atheists that are also black nationalists, that do not like what you are saying, because you are telling the truth, and the truth hurts doesn’t it? These black nationalists are always bringing up facts about religion, but they don’t see clearly, because they ALSO believe in the empowerment of black men over black women in this country believe it or not. They come from some distorted crazy Nazi like philosophy, I’m not even sure they are really even coming from an atheist view point? But I digress and I would like to say that you are doing a great job here, and sorry if other Atheist minded people don’t like it. .
Now I will be honest with you, the bible is filled with misogynistic bs and that would be my only problem, however, I don’t see you as a hypocrite because you follow someone called Jesus. I personally believe there are different types of religious people, but that argument is for another day.
The point is, I like the message you are making clear. We can both agree that, this racism and attack on black women, needs to stop! I have BEAUTIFUL 13 year old daughter, and I hate the world we are leaving behind for our girls. I’ve seen black women get treated like this, since I was 7 years old. I’m just glad I’m not alone in my thoughts and that someone has the sense to speak up about it. Our girls are in danger. Many don’t even realize it. But we WILL have our voices heard so that our daughter’s can have their voices heard.
Even though, I speak to you with the perspective of a pantheistic view point, I’m not going to attack your spiritual beliefs. Yes I do get into debates over religion sometimes, but there is a more important job here. We black women have to start doing our job to protect and inform our girls. Getting them into college so they don’t have some sociopathic black man’s baby. We need to teach and get the message out there.
[…] Bougie throws a massive side eye towards the Black women haters who want us to be outraged over Dona… […]
I think this article exposes the underbelly of fack ass black female haters from the newest movement within our community i.e. the”conscious” movement. It’s true. My hubby and I had to break from the clowns of a movement that had the potential to raise knowledge of many of us across the diaspora. That being said, it has now been pimped out
( as does any and everything black people create) by ignorant blacks who take knowledge of self and twist it up with their own selfish agendas, (as does most movements spiritual religious whatevs). We black women who aspire to be loved, respected, and yes depended on by a strong black male must first be all these things for ourselves, and be truly careful of the lambs in lions clothing to protect our being. I understand and respect the meaning behind this article though I don’t agree with everything stated. Peace
Sorry for the typos. I’m on a new phone, takes some getting use to. ☺
