Every day people ask me questions. After years of saying as the great Bishop Bullwinkle famously said, “hell to the naw, naw. To the naw, naw. To the naw, naw, naw,” I’ve finally decided make them public. Why am I making them public? Because people are asking the same questions.
Here is a little trigger warning. I have my own way of seeing things. I believe in capitalism, acquiring job skills, life and reproductive planning, and growing Black wealth. If you’re offended or feel like I left you out, there are other places for you. I am not here to debate you or tell you I am right and you’re wrong or the reverse. I am just stating my opinion. If you don’t like it, life will go on. Have a great day.
Question: How do you feel about Black Republicans?
BBG: The same way I feel about Black Democrats. If you care about Black wealth, you have a friend in me. Unlike the masses, I truly believe the two-party system was never ours to begin with. U.S. politics is a side-show to get more money out of the angry, insecure and distracted masses. American politics is fake political gang war funded by the same organizations to make sure government remains gridlocked and unproductive while the rest of us are dependent on it, wallowing in debt, and trapped in poverty. Think I am wrong? Have you ever noticed when one side does something wrong the other side sends out fundraising emails and vice versa. Political parties are playing on our fears while emptying our pockets. I can’t blame them. It is incredibly lucrative and solving real problems isn’t. The next presidential election spending may reach over $5 billion. FIVE BILLION DOLLARS! Who wants to solve problems when you can make $5 billion pretending you will? The best thing Black Americans can do with our 37 million strong population is to use both parties towards our advantage.
Call me cynical, but Black Democrats and Republicans can have all the fun they want on the social issues. As I mentioned earlier, that’s how both parties raise money. However, Black Democrats and Black Republicans must be allies on building Black wealth.
Unlike what the media tells us, I believe Black Republicans and Democrats truly want the same thing for Black America; we just go about it in different ways. When we identify those same things, we can begin to plan the how. I really wish more Black Republicans joined the Congressional Black Caucus and Black Democrats would allow Black Republicans to have a louder voice without calling someone an Uncle Tom and silencing them. Black people are not monolithic. We can disagree. Many of us can agree we need to build Black wealth. It begins by forming alliances with people you may disagree within your community today.
Those are my thoughts. What do you think? The only limit you have is the one you have placed on yourself. Think and be limitless.

To say that Democrats and Republicans want to the same things for black people is the a bad joke.
So you are saying all these racists that are the base of the republican party would like for black people to progress.
And these same racists have treated President Obama and Michelle like dodo.
You just lost half of your credibility.
Most black republicans today are just looking for quick handouts or to get into the circle.
In the last thirty years there has been one honorable republican and he voted twice for President Obama. Colin Powell has too much integrity to become a stooge of the racist ass republican party.
We can disagree. All I have to say is look at campaign donations.
I believe in doing what works and forgetting the labels. The basic constructs of Republicanism are beneficial to U.S. Blacks and always have been and those constructs built economicaly viable and self-reliant black communities. Time to stop worrying about how many more or less white Democrats or Republicans love or hate Black people and vote for and DO what works. “Black Wall Street” was built on ‘Republicanism’ and it was whites, both Dems and Repubs that burnt it down but that doesn’t make beinga Black Republican any less viable.
Yep
Back when I was attending undergraduate (88-93), an older friend of mine told me, strategic wise, it would be best for Black Americans to be registered under both parties for leverage purposes. People need to remember that the depression age Blacks (like my grandparents) were registered republicans until the day they died because of Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. Now it doesn’t mean they voted republican through out their lifetime. If it’s such a problem, then Blacks should consider pulling out of both parties & creating our own.
re: ” If it’s such a problem, then Blacks should consider pulling out of both parties & creating our own.”
Or simply conduct themselves as a nation-state like other non-white ethnic groups do. And create alliances with those groups. Asians and Africans - from the Continent not Blacks who’ve appropriated the term “African-American” - in the U.S have quiet alliances because they share the same economic goals and mindset. I think both groups are not interested in being the subject and target of headline news items like U.S. Blacks are so accustomed to riding on.
A nation-state would be Blacks just focusing/supporting only Blacks, whether they call themselves Afro-American, Black, Hebrew, Afro-Latino, Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Arabian, Afro-Iraqi, Siddi, Dravidians, etc. There are alliances that are being and have been built between Blacks in America & Blacks throughout the Diaspora (business & otherwise)…..It just isn’t advertised in mainstream america.
There are also alliances amongst Blacks in the US who believe in & practice entrepreneurship, investments, trading, real estate, creating technology, owning land, permaculture, preparedness, creating nonprofits, living/working/doing business globally, etc., etc. that is not blasted all over the news because mainstream america doesn’t report on those items concerning Black Americans.
Living in S. California, has shown me that various ethnic groups are only interested in promoting/supporting their own. Nothing more. There is no such thing as an alliance unless it is with your own. You take care of your own first, second, & last. I learned this from living amongst non-white ethnic groups. As i stated before, if Blacks plan on staying in America, & if neither party is serving our interests, then there is the option of creating a political party for ourselves (this is not a new idea-it has been discussed for yearrrrrrrrrs).
It doesnt matter how long the idea of a political party has been discussed if it’s not necessary or feasible. Wanting to have your own political party is just another reason to get up on a soap box and holler about this and that and play politics and that’s just a waste of time. When I posited a nation-state I mean it as a state of mind. A methodolgy of of getting things done. In essence act as you were running your own independent state. What skills are needed? What kinds of education? What kinds of resources, etc. U.S. Blacks represent roughly 12.5% of the population (?) so what good is having a separate political party going to do exactly?
At any rate, I can’t say much as I opted out of being in U.S. some time ago. I live in Asia and its just better for us here.
If you opt out of the US why worry about anything political within it? I could see your concern, if you still have vested interests still here. For those Blacks that still decide to reside here in the US or still have a vested interest in the US let them decide what they want to do politically. Some may feel the way you do, some may not. Anyway, enjoy your life in Asia. Take Care & Best Wishes.
