Yes you read that right. The Twitter call-out culture has come to real life. You see Twitter loves to call-out appropriation. They will destroy your mentions, contact your employers and on very rare occasions, even threaten your life. It happened to me. I was called-out for having the nerve to tell me sons not to take drugs. LOL! That’s how messed up it is. Well the woman in the video was mad because a White man had dreads.

Rewind! What is cultural appropriation? According to About.com cultural appropriation is:

“Taking intellectual property, traditional knowledge, cultural expressions, or artifacts from someone else’s culture without permission. This can include unauthorized use of another culture’s dance, dress, music, language, folklore, cuisine, traditional medicine, religious symbols, etc. It’s most likely to be harmful when the source community is a minority group that has been oppressed or exploited in other ways or when the object of appropriation is particularly sensitive, e.g. sacred objects.” About.com

OK, now you know what it is so back to the topic!

Most of the time I agree with the calling out the MEDIA or people who financially benefit from calling nonBlack folks the inventors of urban hair ties aka du-rags and boxer braids aka cornrows, but this is too much. She had no right to put her hands on him and it is not her place to do so.

One more thing. Notice how the Black man who is near, her didn’t cry about appropriation and didn’t even attempt to stop the incident. You see some Black women stay fighting LOSING battles while others watch. Typical! Powerful Black women let others fight her battles. Read “While others admire the strong Black woman, I admire the powerful Black woman” and why you should never ever be like the woman in the video.

Anyways if it’s true that this woman is an employee of his school, I hope she gets fired and faces charges against for assault. She can fight all the appropriation she wants in jail.

Folks are going to learn. Life is too short. Keep your hands to yourself and focus on you.  The best revenge isn’t fighting. It is health, wealth, happiness and my favorite, power.

Check out the video below!

Some of y’all are going to be mad and me. Deal with it. It is a lesson some need to learn. What do you think about what this woman did?

The only limit you have is the one you have placed on yourself. Think and be limitless.
