Ya’ll know I don’t do BET but today I could not resist. After all this is the music I grew up with. Yes, there was a time when Black women dominated both the hip hop and RnB genres. There was more than one woman rapper in the game. In fact, there were a lot. They were all unique, beautiful, stylish, powerful and incredibly gifted. Some had their “beefs” but most stuck together. When I saw this my heart skipped a beat. Can you believe this song came out 20 years ago? I can’t. Wow, this took my breath away and even though this came out 20 years ago it was incredibly refreshing hear. There were no phonies, culture vultures or imitators on this stage. This was. No this is real hip hop and RnB. These women live and breathe it. They came from it. And yes, Black don’t crack. They are beautiful. Black women are so amazing. Enjoy watching Brandy, Queen Latifah, Mc Lyte & YoYo perform the “I Wanna Be Down Remix.”
I really enjoyed this performance a lot! Loved it! We need more Hip Hop acts like this instead of nonsense like Iggy Azalea and 2 Chainz
This was a classic performance, just like it was 20 years ago. These women can still rule-the-mic and can run circles around the so called hip hop artists out today.
