According to the New York Times, “Even as more stores opened their doors on Thanksgiving, hoping for a jump start to the holiday season, an initial reading suggested that combined sales on Thanksgiving and Black Friday fell 0.5 percent from the same period last year.” I suspect it is because many of us boycotted it. Very good post. I decided not to spend my hard earned cash on Black Friday because it isn’t worth giving my money to these White owned establishments and businesses especially when they don’t respect people who look like me. Plus there are several Black owned businesses that I support myself and give money to. Maybe I will only shop and buy at those places from now on.
